Program fees in Ohio
I went to see Dr. White in Toledo and there are no program fees. You can call whenever you need to and there is a support group every month. No extra charge for anything. You are only required to pay your insurance copay. He is an awesome man and surgeon and his staff is just as wonderful. Best of luck to you!! Terisa
Thanks for the info I was going to go to Mount Carmel, but to be honest they have a $300 program fee, and you have to see there nutritionalist and that is $224.00. I like everyone else am struggling money wise and I dont have that money right now. I know that isnt alot compared to some of the program fees, but right now any amount is tough. Thanks for that information I will check into that on Monday.
He does have a nutritionist, but I think that some insurances pay for it and some do not. My insurance paid for it. it is one of those where they will submit to your insurance to see if they will pay. You are right, the program fee for Mount Carmel is not too bad. A lot less than many others. My surgeon just has a different mentality that most other surgeons. He is a very caring and devoted man and is genuine about his care for his patients. There have been other surgeons who have left the area and he always takes their patients in. He also welcomes other patients to the support group at no extra charge.
You will likely be required to obtain a psych eval for your insurance company and that is not covered by insurance either. You would obtain your own psychiatrist for this or Dr. White has one if you cannot find one on your own. No matter what you do there will be some costs involved, but it is worth every penny. I did 2.
Trace Curry has a $400 professional fee and then a $4K doctor fee. he is completely out of network so those without that type of ins. coverage have to pay out of pocket. I paid the initial nonrefundable $400 but then had to switch surgeons because of cost (I do think the $400 comes off the other $4k.). you also have to pay for the dietian and I think it was around $60.
now I'm with UC surgeons and there was a $300 fee but if you don't get approved you get like $240 or something of it back. so far that is ALL I have paid with this doctor and I think its all I will have to pay. diet appts were $24 for the first one I think and $20 afterwards.

I'm not near Marysville, but my surgeon charged no "program" fee at all -- just her normal charge for performing the surgery -- and I know that at least 2 of the other bariatric surgery programs in Dayton charge no such fee, either.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Actually Kettering is only about an hour and a half from me so I will check that out as well. I really appreciate all the help from everyone.I have already went through all the testing at my doctors office, and my physc. evail. I guess I will have to see who works with my insurance also but thanks for all the information it really does help.
I am having my surgery at Riverside with Dr Myers. The program fee is $1500 and includes 6 dietary visits, pre and post op supplements etc.. and I think 12 visits to McConnell exercise facility whi*****ludes time with a trainer, land and water workouts. At first it seemed like a lot, but I think they are trying to make sure we have the best start possible. I have been very happy with my experience so far.
