Surgery on Monday
Hi All...
It has been so long since I have posted that I am not sure if anyone will remember me. I had my RNY almost 4 years ago and had a lot of complications and almost died. I do not regret my decision to have the surgery but do believe it is such a personal choice.
I feel that I am finally on that last leg of my journey. Monday the 7th I am having all my plastic surgery done by Dr. Kurtis Martin. He is doing my arms and a lower body lift. I am positive I have picked the right surgeon after doing so much research. I am thrilled and scared, nervous and happy all at once! I did just find out this week that my insurance is covering the tummy part of my surgery so that is helping with the cost. Anyway, I just wanted to share my news........ and thank you all for being such a major part in my journey. Obesityhelp has been such a godsend for info, friends, support etc...... I will post later when I can. ( I am really nervous about the pain part of my recovery!)
Thanks and take care,
Janet
I'm new to the site, but good luck with your surgery Monday! It definitely is an added bonus that insurance is picking up some of the cost. My husband (he had the surgery, not me) and I have already talked a few times about what options we would consider when he reaches his target weight.
When you get an opportunity, you'll have to let me know where Dr.Martin is, and if you're happy with surgery.
Prayers for a safe, successful surgery Monday!!!

Your in GREAT hands. I know of several people that have used Dr. Marting and have had GREAT results!!!!!!!!!! If I ever get to to have a TT Dr. Martin is on my short list of who to go to. It's really nice that your insurance is helping with the cost and that Dr. Martin is accepting it. Good Luck and keep us posted. Robin

Janet,
I remember you, I do believe that you have been to our support group meeting in Chillicothe. I haven't been on here for quite a while also. I had multiple procedures with Dr. Martin and I am very pleased and very very happy with my results. I tell everyone that is considering plastic surgery that Dr. Martin is the best. I had to travel 3 hours one way to go to him, but he and his staff are well worth it. Not only is he gifted, but a he has a great bedside manner....easy going and so down to earth. I wish you the best on Monday! Good to see you on here again!

Hi Mary,
It is nice to see a familiar face. I did go to the Chillicothe support meetings for awhile with Bo and Cheryl. That is where I first met Dr. Martin. He presented there once in fact he wants to call them and do it again. I think he is the best out there as well so I am praying he does his magic on me! He is funny and caring and so upfront about what he can and can not do!. His staff especially Lindsay has been wonderful to work with getting what I needed for the insurance part. I think she was more excited to get the approval than I was! Anyway, thanks for your well wishes and to all the others as well. I am just so darn nervous right now. Some of my friends and family think I am crazy for doing this but they just don't understand that I HAVE to do this.....it isn't about looking better in a bikini (Ha! i would never wear one) it is doing it for me. I am willing to take the risks just like I did with the RNY. So how is the pain afterwards? How long till you felt better? So many questions......
Take Care,
Janet
