1 year post op - TODAY!!

Today is my 1 year mark. I am down 131 pounds and 77 inches. I went to my surgeon yesterday for a check up and he said that my labs are perfect and that he doesn't want me to lose any more weight. He said for my height 5' 9 1/2" that 161 pounds is actually below where he would like me to be. He told me that if I was to get sick or something that I needed to have a little extra weight to run on.....who ever thought I'd hear a doctor tell me that!!! He told me to shoot for 1200-1400 calories a day to maintain my current weight.

I'm so happy with my VSG, I tell everyone about it, some people probably get tired of hearing me talk about it. I still never feel hunger and I'm hoping that stays away for a long time to come. I do find myself snacking more than what I used to though. I mentioned that to my surgeon too and he told me to be careful with that because snacks go through the sleeve easily and that would be easy to put weight back on if I allow that habit to come back. I told him that now that I've come this far that I will be watching very carefully - I do not want to ever go back to where I was or even 1/2 way to where I was before.

I haven't put up a new blog on my page but I did just add a picture that my husband took of me yesterday. It is amazing to me to look at the before and after pictures......I still don't even believe it is me
