Appointment with Dr Trivedi

I have an appt with Dr Trivedi yesterday. Great appointment, spent about 45 min talking to him. We discussed all of the different WLS options and asked me why I had picked the VSG over the RNY. So I told him. It is good to do your homework.  After much discussion of my lifestyle and eating habits, we agreed that VSG was my best option. He did say that if I didnt acheive the weightloss or started to regain in the future, that my VSG could either be revised or I could changed it into a RNY or a DS. I like having these options open for the future.  He did want to scope me himself to check if I had any ulcers.... So hopefully if I do, they are just going to be in the part that they will cut out. It's not like I am going to want to keep them or that part of the stomach that I so dont need. But the best part, I feel like something has changed. Like it is finally real and it is going to happen.

That is a great feeling!!! I know when I finally felt that this could happy I was on cloud 9!! I guess I still am!! I have 7 days until I meet with my surgeon and send in for insurance approval!!!

Good luck!! This is such a hard thing to deal with!!! We will make it!!

Glad things are working out for you.  I had VSG with Dr. Schumacher who is partners with Trivedi last May - best decision I've ever made!  Best to you on getting your VSG soon!

Hi. Dr Trivedi is my doctor also. He had m do an upper GI since I have reflux(no problems) I have my last meeting which is with the nutritionalist on April 21st and then my second appt with Dr Trivedi. After that I will be all ready to go an just be waiting on a date for surgery. Keep your spirits up and good luck to you.Im glad I chose Dr Tridedi also,have had several friend use him and from their experiences made him my choice. GB

Although I really liked him and feel like I made a good choice in surgeon. It is always good to hear that others are really happy with him too. Makes me feel good.

I have a PCP appt to set up a cardiac, pulminary, and blood work. Also FYI, Molina want everyone to be drug and alcohol tested. They are no rejecting peeps if they dont have this.

Other than that, everything is good.... and I have started my WLS hope chest with protein bullets, Medifast and a magic bullet blender. The Protein Bullets and the Medifast were a gift from a friend.

 

yes I had to be cleared of drugs and alchool too!! I am glad you have some of your stuff!! I want a magic bullet too, I think they are about 100. right? I am going to try and get one before my surgery!! Are you supose to call tomorrow about switching, or how are you going to hear! I knew within 3 days, so I am amazed it has taken you this long!! It looks as though I will have a early June suregery date!!

Well I got the hamilton beach brand at walmart... and it was $25. It came with 6- 6oz containers and either 2 or 4 12oz containers plus sippy/ sprinkler lids. I figured that if I go through 4 of these, it I will be ahead, since I will have that many extra cups.

 Well, I still have one more try to get it through before May 1

but I didnt have a good reason like you did for them to switch it asap. I will find one if I dont get it this try.
