Searching for Dayton-area buds ...

Hi, all!  I am fairly new to the boards, having just had RNY with Dr. Rita Anderson on 2/26.  Just hoping to connect with some local WLS buddies so we can lean on one another and support each other! I live in the Kettering area with my husband, daughter (age 8) and son (age 15 months).  I also work in the Kettering area as and advertising agency executive.   I can't begin to tell you how great I am feeling after surgery.  More than physically, in a state of mind kind of way!  I have more hope than ever befroe that I can do this!

Hi!  There are several of us here that had Dr Rita do our surgeries (and one that I know of who is  planning to have Dr Rita do hers once she gets through the insurance approval process). I'm glad you're feeling so good.  My first 2 months were pretty rough (emotionally and physically after some issues with my open incision), but now I feel terrific.  Are you planning to attend either of the monthly support groups?  Lora p.s.  You CAN do this!

Hi, Lora! Yep, I'm planning to attend the Kettering one ... since it's so close to both my home and work.  I also plan to join a smaller group, too, with others who have surgery dates around mine.  I need to call they PSYCH today to schedule. :-) Yes, I have also been amazed at how good I feel.  I have been blessed so far ... but am kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop! ;-) Tracy

I'm a Doc Rita ALUMNI You are in GREAT hands. I work retail so my schedule changes all the time so it's hard for me to make any support group meetings but I try to check the boards everyday. If anyone is meeting up out side of the regular meeting let me know and I'll see what my schedule looks like. A while back there were several of us from the area that met at DLM in Springboro.they have a very nice up stairs sitting area. .. but then other things got in the way and we didn't get together any more.  Good Luck,  Robin
