Terri:
I went to the hospital this morning, and after they sent me running for an hour and noone would tell me how Janice was, I left after leaving flowers in her room. About 20 minutes ago, I called her cell to leave her a message and she answered the phone. I had to ask her if she had major surgery. She sounded amazing. I don't think I spoke to anyone for a week. What a trooper. She said she had not spoken to the dr., I got off the phone with her because I know she has to be feeling pretty tired. I wil go see her tomorrow, but I wanted to report what I knew

Thanks for the update - it is good to know that the surgery is behind her now and she can get on with the new life.  I am so happy and relieved that she did well.  I think I worried more about her than I did about my own surgery.  It's hard waiting to hear how things are going!  Lets continue our prayers that she have smooth sailing over the next few days!

Thanks, y'all!  It was an interesting and wonderful hospital visit.  I have some killer bruises on my tummy, but think I will live.   I shared a room with a lovely woman named Michelle who is also from Warren and we got along extremely well.  Even though Dr Vanek was her surgeon, we shared Dr Woodruff well. I appreciate all the calls and my friend brought me some emails that people had sent her regarding her email from the surgery.  It was hysterical .. people saying the male nurses should watch out.  I dunno! Nice surprise, Chuck Y. came by too (he is on OH).  It was good to see him and to see less of him.  He looks better and better all the time!  The ladies will have to look out. The ladies who took me to the hospital (God love'em; 4am is a horrible time) warned the male nurse I had about my charm and he said "dontcha know all the male nurses in this hospital are gay?"  Then he winked at me.  Haha.  He had wls four years ago and has lost 150 pound (with a 20 pound recent regain) and was a good support throughout too. So, I've walked, calciumed, and am about to protein drink.  Goodness, I am not a hyper organized person, but will learn. Will post a picture with me and said nurse shortly. Thanks again for all the love and care! Janice

Janice, What hospital were you in?  My sis and her fiance both work up there at St. Elizabeths.  You didn't have a male nurse named Simeon did you?  He most certainly is NOT GAY. ;-) Congrats to you on your surgery!!! Tracy

LOL, no I was at St Joe's in Warren.  I do a lot of work with St E's .. might have to look for Simeon just to see what that definitive commentawas about!  haha. I am planning to make it to the support group this month too, Chuck.  Gotta tell ya, all seems to be going well, so I am smiling.  STAY WARM! Janice
