Revision
I am new to OH and would like to talk with a few people who have had a revision. I had a GBV in 1999 and it failed. I thought it was my fault but since I found OH I have learned this isn't necessaly true. I am tired of feeling guilty about my weight and scared if I get any bigger that I will end up dead. I had high hopes for my last surgery and I gained back all of my weight. I have the support of my family and a few friends but would really like to have some friends who share the things I am going thru and will be going thru. Please help.
Thanks,
Tedi
Hi Tedi!
I would advise that you venture over to the revisions forum to read. I would also like to invite you over to the duodenal switch forum too. We have many revision patients there too who are always very helpful to discuss their revisions.
Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your responce. I went to see a surgeon on Tuesday 3/18. He was the doctor I had seen about my gallbladder 9 yrs ago and had referred me to the surgeon that did my VBG. When he walked in the room I introduced myself and he said so you were a patient of mine 9 yrs ago what did you see me for? I explained to him why I had come and he had made the referral for my VBG. He hung his head and said I am so sorry I just didn't know any better at the time. He went on to say a few things about the dr that I will not repeat. I never heard one doctor talk about another doctor with such contempt. But he said he could fix it and he was glad I came back to him now that he was doing Bariatric Surgery. I told him I didn't hold it aganist him that is why I was there. Turns out I am a good canidate for the Revision for a R-N-Y and he may even be able to do it Lap! I am very excited about that. I will be seeing my PCP on April 10 to get my paper work started for my insurance company. They require 6 months of supervised diet plan, then a letter of recommendation for the surgery. I don't doubt that I will be able to get one.
