Update

Hey all, Just an update. I had my operation on the 12th and came home on Friday. So now I'm staying at my parents until the end of the week. Of course i'm in soup and texture-less hell that is the full liquid part of the diet until friday. Popscicles and pudding have been my friend but i'm so craving for a slice of pizza, especially with the new pizza hut pizza commercials on the tv. heh Oh well.  Not sure how I am doing weight wise since they didn't weigh me at the hospital and I don't have my scale with me. I've lucked out on pain. I haven't taken any of the liquid tylanol they gave me and I'm actually typing this on my stomach though there's a pillow between me and the bed. Can't wait for this month to be done and get off the liquid/puree. Oh well  take care everyone.

Welcome home! My husband and I trying to get our surgeries approved through St Vincents. I have see Ben-Meir and mu husband Bill is seeing I.M.Sonpal. I just wondered how you liked your experience, your doc, etc.  Were you able to take a lap top to the hospital? How long between the time of first consult till a approval and or surgery date? So many questions I know, lol. I will look forward to your reply. Once again, welcome home and to your new life!! Kim

I did the leap program from sept->nov 07.  Got some testing done and submitted paperwork to insurance in mid december. Got the surgery date in January. And operation in Feb.  I lucked out in that it was a fairly quick turn around process. You can bring a laptop, or at least i never saw any rules against it. Though they caution against bringing expensive stuff. I brought a Nintendo DS, and my parents brought my cell phone (ATT 8525) when they visited.  I didn't keep the phone on me because worried  it distracting me so much. I'm pretty sure one of the guys in the wing when I was there had a Nintendo Wii, but I hadn't talked to him much.
