2nd annual bariatric health fair

Hey everyone...we are working on the event for May 31st.  workshops and speakers and tons of fun.  As we get confirmation on speakers, etc.  We will post that as well.. The event will be held at the Marriott hotel just outside the airport in N. Kentucky.

Stupid question...just outside the airport in N. Kentucky - where exactly would this be?  Cincinnati or ???

I understand it's later in the year now.  They are not doing it in may and I've sent several emails to [email protected] and no responses yet. A few patients who attend my support group go to Dr. S and they said it's been postponed.

Hi James, I am sorry but I haven't heard either.  Dr. Sonnanstine is a proctor for Ethicon who just released the new gastric band (realize band) in Oct.  Currently he is proctoring many surgeons throughout the U.S.  Not to mentioned his busy practice and surgery schedule.  The email you mentioned was strictly for sign up and probably isn't monitored, the reason you didn't get a response. Hang in there, I am sure they will give us plenty of notice when it's rescheduled. Is this the support group at Deaconess or the one at Dr. Curry's office?...

Brenda I heard you do't work with Dr. S and his patients anymore..that is a veyr sad thing to hear...my wife was hopsing you would be there for her on surgery day.........we wondred if that is why there is not going to be an event this year at all......are you going to work with another doctor? please let us all know where you will be.....thanks

Brenda, is this the reason for your absenteeism. Or is this just another gutless rumor?  Tell us it isn’t so. Call me please!!

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie,...what am I ever going to do with you? Now don't take this wrong but if  you will.... allow me to scold you for a moment..but of course with lots of TLC  The rumors are just that.  Please let me explain why I have been so absent,...Kit i Hope you read this as well. As you know I do all that I do strictly as a volunteer...I will be 6 yrs out in June and have given my life and soul to bariatrics in every way you can imagine.  I am very well connected with a few of my favorite docs such as Dr. Sonnanstine, and Dr. Weiss in Georgetown, Ky.  I love spending time with patients and families if I can..and absolutely love being involved in programs when ask.  I have met ahd know most all surgeons here in Cincy..I have had dinner with Dr. Sonnanstine and Dr. Rodriguez.  What many of you will find is that life changes so much after surgery...I have never been sorry for all that i have done as I have had some incredible experiences..Dr. Sonnanstine took me under his wing almost  4 yrs ago and through that we became friends..I have a great deal of respect and admiration for him and always will... This past year was a very difficult one..I had plastic surgery with bad complications..while still wearing a wound vac I found out my father had lung cancer and would only live a short time..7 wks later he  passed away.   Not long after his death I found out my son and his wife were having a baby...shortly thereafter my daughter announced she and her husband were expecting as well...My granddaughter born in Oct and my grandson was born Feb 1st.. my mother became ill in Feb...  She recovered nicely (thankfully)..I have two incredible grandchildren that i cannot get enough of... last year while off with my complications I decided to close my business and do something different...it was perfect timing..I now work at BNorth hospital and babysit my grandson on my days off.   Now you and others know more about me than most..lol I will always be there for any patients who ask for me, if in the future Dr. Sonnanstine ask for my assistance with an event or anything else I would be happy to get involved....he has been very good to me.   But life evolved into a new era for me...I love where I am right now, I love being a grandma.. So pleaseeeeeeeee..stop with the rumors..It honestly drives me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was with a patient at Dr. Sonnanstine's office last week..  I just got off the phone with yet another one of his patients asking me to be her advocate...I am looking forward to doing just that.. As for the surgery I could not attend this past week...I didn't get the email about the patient on time Friday when they requested me because I was at BNorth working until late..so the communication ladder failed and I honestly wasn't feeling well on Sunday evening..I contacted Dr. Sonnanstine and ask him to give my apologies to the family..if you know who they are I would love to talk to them personally to apology for my absence. So there..now ya know it all!!!!..   the whispers can stop...lol

Brenda thanks for our phone conversaton and you not being mad at me with this message...we just miss you and wanted you and every one at the center to know it.....there are some of us that see each other once in awhile at dinner and were talking how things have change since you don't come arund as much...we hope that you will stay connected to Dr S and the patients and still have time for us...I am glad to hear that things are going good for you and your life....I am looking forward to gettting together with you ad if you do chose to start a support group in your area I would like to bring me wife so that she can get some of your support........thanks again for everthing you do.....

The support group I go to is at Deaconess hospital every month on wednesday.  I don't really deal with Dr. C

who runs the support group at Deaconess? I know REbecca use to but I heard she went to Dr. Curry's new place...but you can see I hate rumors so I thought I would ask..lol
