Dr. Brian Lane's Patients
I didn't go home with any drains, but some of Dr Lane's patients - my friends I met here online & in person - have had their drains removed at their 1 week Post-op appointment. Best to you on your upcoming surgery & recovery. I can't say enough good things about the nursing staff at Wood Co Hospital and the great experience I've had dealing with Dr Lane & his staff. We're privileged to have such a jewel of a surgeon here in NW OH. (I had the RNY done. I know that one of the people I met had the Vertical Sleeve done - I'm not sure what drains are typical for that surgery.)
Hi, my name is Linda and I am a patient at Dr. Lanes. My surgery is scheduled for Feb. 12 and I would like to get to know some people who are having surgery with Dr Lane. I already have had Dr. operate and I am so impressed with his work ethic. They found a tumor on my lung xray that I had during pre testing that turned out to be cancer! Dr. Lane removed on May 17, it was a very hard surgery they say this is a cakewalk compared to that, we'll see. The staff at the hospital are great and I have been in hospitals where they were terrible and I never want to do that again. They didn't even participate in my insurance plan when I first had my consultation, I was so disappointed. Darcey called to tell me that they would apply to be in network and now they are. I had a few paperwork issues, not sure if it was office staff or insurance. Insurance would not approve till oncologist said I was good to go & I was missing one weight of 5 year history. Just didn't have it, and couldn't get it, my pcp isn't good about regular weighins! Anyway the road has seemed long but not really and soon I will be there. I think Dr. Lane is a wonderful surgeon, you are lucky to have chosen so well. best wishes and trust the Dr.

I had my surgery on January 15 and I have my one week appt tomorrow with Dr. Lane and I will be getting my drain removed. The drain has not been a big deal at all. I empty it a couple of times a day and it's fine. Dr. Lane and Amy are Great! I also thought Linda was very helpful with my insurance when I was ready to give up she didn't let me. If you read in my blog you will see it took me 3 years to get approved. 2 with Dr. Lane and 1 with the lap bad. If I can answer any other questions don't hesitate to ask. Good Luck! Melissa
Just to let you know that I had a VSG on 12-03-07 and did go home with a draintube. Dr. Lane did my surgery and I feel he and his staff have done a great job for me. I was especially impressed with the Nurses at the hospital. They just ran, ran, ran but were always there for me whenever I needed something, and they were kind about it too. I wish you great success with your surgery! ~Barb
