Hi Everyone, I wanted to know how everyone else got through the pureed stage.  I am in week 3 post-op and I don't think that I am doing something right other than getting my 70 grams of protein each day.  If anyone else is willing to share, please let me know how you were successful in getting through this stage, along with the types of food you ate each day. Thanks,  Marie

Hi Marie I am currently 4 weeks post-op. Some of the things I have been eating are: Cottage Cheese.  I sometimes add a tsp of applesauce to give it flavor. Ricotta Cheese Fluff (1 Box SF Pudding, 1 Container Ricotta Cheese, 1 Cup FF Milk. Blended) Pudding FF Refried Beans with FF Sour Cream, Salsa, and LF Shredded Cheese Low Fat Cheese and Cheese Sticks Sugar Free Yogurt Tukey Chili (pureed) Hard Boiled Eggs (minus the yolks).  You can also puree with the yolk and FF Mayonnaise and seasoning for a deviled egg. Spoonful of Peanut Butter as a snack I have pureed cooked meat with some low sodium chicken broth Egg Beaters with sauteed mushrooms and LF cheese using Pam butter flavored cooking spray. Smoothies with ff milk and protein powder.  I have added bananas and peanut butter to mine. Diet hot cocoa made with ff milk and a scoop of chocolate protein powder I am still not able to eat enough to get all of my recommended calories in, but I am getting in my protein.  I use SparkPeople.com to track my daily food intake.  It is a free site, so you can check it out.  I have been told that my calories will be easier to get in as my pouch adjusts.  Just remember to try one thing at a time to see how your pouch accepts it.  I knowsome people are lactose intolerant post-op, so some of these ideas may not work for you if you have that problem. I hope this helps :)

I had my rny on the same day 12/26 and I am doing well except for when I eat to fast or to much.  I guess that is a learned process.  I havent dumped but I do feel very uncomfortable if I eat to much or to fast.  Then I just walk it off and take some deep breaths until it passes. I puree most everything from veggies in a can to bananas and tuna, chicken in the can mixed with light mayo.  The only thing that didnt go down well was a real turkey I cooked that I didnt cook for Christmas.  It just didnt agree with me. I mixed it with light mayo and it was just to hard on my pouch.  I think it might have been the grease.  I get most of my protein in and seem to tolerate everything as long its pureed.  I havent tried sugar yet as I am afraid.  I eat cottage cheese alot, with fruit and lots of yourt with fruit. Then I make sf pudding with my protein powder which is good.  I mix sf vanilla ice cream with my protein to make it taste more like a milkshake. I also like Progresso soups pureed.  I thinks so far that covers it.
