I had my surgery May 2006.  I have lost a significant amount, but still have away to go.  The problem is that I have hit a wall.  Inthe past 6-8 months I don't believe I have lost.  I lose then gain, but for the  most part stay in the same range.  It is very depressing and I don't really know where to turn.  I went to my PCP last week and he did some blood work (results to be in this week).  I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem or can give some advice.  My life withm y daughter and husband is hectic with running between doctors for myself and sporting events for her.. I have not had the time I need on the treadmill, but when I do have the time ( like tongiht) I just do not have the motivation to do it. HELP!!!!  Please.  I just am begining to feel all the work, pain and everything I went through 18 months ago was a waste.  I wanted to try and find a support group, but am having a hard time.  I dont want to give up on all I have accomplished, but also know I have another 100 pounds to go, but am wondering if I will ever get there having been "stuck" at this point. Has any one else experienced this.  Thank you for your help.

I have some advice, but you probably won't like it....  From reading your post, it sounds like you need to reevaluate your priorities.  You had MAJOR SURGERY to lose weight, and you knew that would require a long-term commitment to substantial changes in your life.  It meant you would need to eat a healthy, low-fat, low-carb, high protein diet for life.  That you would need to take a variety of supplements for life.  That you would need to exercise regularly for life.  Unfortunately, your post contains excuses for why these things are not happening today.   I hit a wall about 14 months after my surgery.  I started using excuses - I can't make it to the gym, one day of too many carbs isn't bad, I can go out to breakfast/lunch/dinner and order whatever I want, I have errands to run so I'll just grab some fast food (insert whatever excuses you're using).  And I stopped losing weight.  I can't say exactly what "woke me up," but I realized that, in choosing weight loss surgery, I had literally put my life on the line, and that I didn't want that to be for nothing.   So I critically reevaluated what I was doing, got my food and exercise back in line, and continued to lose.  I'm only losing 2-3 pounds per month now, but I'm still losing and I'm not gaining.  I make a food plan every morning.  If I'm going to be running errands, I pack snacks (banana, apple, protein bar, beef jerky).  I make an exercise plan each week and schedule it like I do any other appointment; it does not get shuffled around to accomodate other peoples' needs/wants/desires.  I need to take care of myself daily so that I have the time, energy, and motivation to give to others on a long-term basis.   I don't know where you will find your motivation, but keep looking for it.  We all have different things that motivate us - you will find yours if you seek it.  Good luck on your continuing journey -  Kellie

I must say that I completely agree with Kellie. I find it easier to make exercise as an appt as well - then I don't skip it. I will NEVER like to exercise, but I do admit now that I feel better once I've done it. It's just kicking myself in the butt to get there. You have to make YOUR health a priority ortherwise you will not be around to help your kids and hubby later. I know it sounds harsh, but true. My stumbling block is drinking - when I'm taking care of everyone else then I lose track of how much I have or have not drank. That's my goal this week - starting yesterday I've gotten back on track with writing down my drinks (oz) and then I know when I'm done or need to drink more. Hang in there. You just have to motivate yourself - as Kellie says - we can'd do it for you but we can be here to help support your decisions.  Best of luck. Cheryl
