New In Sandusky

Hello everyone!  I'm Tami and new to the message board thing.  I'm in Sandusky and have my first consultation the last Wednesday in November with Dr. Lane in Bowling Green.  I'm going to be 100% self-pay, so I dont have to wait for approval from insurance.  I'm hoping to have the RNY procedure...but of course that all depends on what the doctor suggests.  I have no idea what to expect at all...from the doctor, the testing that has to be done, how long I will have to wait for the surgery.   I'm currently 5'3" and 318 pounds. I NEED A FRIEND!!! Will someone help me out? Also I understand that there is a support group in Sandusky and would like to attend those meetings.  Tami

Hi Tami, and welcome to the Ohio boards!

My name is Dan and I am the person who has been posting the support group meeting messages for Sandusky.  We meet the Third Tuesday of each month and our next meeting is Tuesday Nov 20th from 6:30-7:30pm at the Firelands South Campus (old Providence hospital) in community room (The Chapel).  Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to also bring a support person with you if you choose.  I am two + years post op and had my surgery in Cleveland at St. V's.  We have a great group that is growing each month.  Last month we had three new members.
