In need of an Angel

Wow!  I am scheduled for RNY surgery October 16th!  In just 14 days, I will be starting my new healthier (I hope) life.  I have a wonderfuly husband of 32 years supporting me all the way, however that is where our support ends.  No family, (just the four legged kind) and few friends.  So if there is anyone out there that would like to offer their services, I sure would appreciate it.  I could really use the interreaction with someone who has or is about to enter this new world of WLS..........Excited, apprehensive, but ready!  Thanks for reading this and blessings to all!  Terri

my first advice is to get a good seat belt cuz the ride is awesome ! i'm not an amusement park person but i liken wls-the preparations for /the during/ and the recoup/ losing  period -like a roller coaster ride! i haven't gotten to maintenance yet but i am sure it's a humdinger! terri- you have my email and cell phone number now in your PM-- here's an extra hug for you til i get back from dallas !

Make sure you've got a comfy pillow to keep with you. You'll need it for the ride home and the walking in the hospital. You can always feel free to e-mail and call me. I'm now 7 months out and lost 100 pounds. I can't wait to have you there beside me. Congrats and good luck on your big day hun Christy

If I don't ever loose anymore that's ok. I'm happy where I am at, weight and in life

Thanks so much for the wonderful tips.  They called me today and moved up my surgery date from the 16th to the 15th of October.  I bet you must be on cloud nine to be down 100 pounds!  I have never in my life been thin, so I a not sure how I will react.  If I feel better and rid myself of many of the medical problems, I will be estatic! Thanks again, Christy! Terri

There's been nothing better than my six year old telling me she loves having her new mommy. I was able to go to an amusment park and not worry about fitting on any of the rides. I just went on ANYTHING I wanted to. Its wonderful being down 100 pounds. I can't wait to reach my goal and make myself and my daughter happy. Honestly we're all happy if where I am now is where my body stopped.

Not having children, I can only imagine how that must feel.  On the other hand, I can relate to the amusement park ride. I stopped going long time ago after I could not get the safety bar to latch and had to leave the ride, what a long and embarrassing walk that was.   I am so happy for you and wish you continued success my friend!

Terri, how wonderful!  That's less than a week away now!  I am new to this forum stuff, but would be happy to at least keep prayers going for you! Take care, Janice
