What about a cold.
I'm sure it's been asked before but...
I am suposed to have surgery in 7 days. Yesterday I came down with a cold now what do you think will happen?
I asked the nurse who did my pre admittance intake and labs this morning at the hosptal and she said it shouldn't be a problem. But i'm still worried.

You should call the doc and ask what OTC you could take. Most should be OK but there are a few that you shouldn't take.
I found this on another support group site
Re: [Graduate-OSSG] I THINK I'M COMMING DOWN WITH A COLD
A week before I had WLS, I thought I was coming down with a cold. My PCP gave me
the Z-Pack, a strong dose of antibioctics. I was still stuffy on the day of
surgery, but the "sleep doc" was only concerned with with my lungs, which were
clear. Good luck! jackie/NJ
THINK I'M COMMING DOWN WITH A COLD.............
I swear that Airborne is a great help. I use it whenever I feel a cold coming
on, and it either stops the cold in its tracks or lessens the impact greatly.
Get it, use it. Cannot hurt our pouches. It's wonderful stuff to have on hand.

Re:I THINK I'M COMMING DOWN WITH A COLD.............
I will swear by Zicam. It's a zinc nasal spray that will stop you from getting
colds that are coming and get rid of colds you already have. When I feel a cold
coming on I will start taking Zicam and within the next day or two, all symptoms
will stop. It's amazing.
Again CALL YOU DOC just to be sure.
Good Luck,
