Newbie with the jitters

Hello, First post here in the OH room.  Just set up my appointment today with Dr. Curry for lap band surgery on October 9th. Anyone have any pointers on how to survive the 2 week medifast?  Is there any way to make them better without sabotaging the diet? Also is any one out there from the Dayton area gone to Dr Curry or other doctors in the area for the Lap Band?  I am looking for support groups and though I love Cincy, I would like to have a group a little closer to home.

I don't have any advice on youe 2 week medifast. My doc didn't have me do this.  As far as support groups you could see if any of the doc/hospitals in Kettering, or Dayting have open groups. I haven't found any support groups that I can attend with my work schedule.  Good Luck,  Robin

I know!  I have been trying to find a group for weeks now and no luck.  I work 4 days at 10 hours a day in the evening... I wished there was a morning group out there somewhere but no luck in finding one.   I will let you know if I do find anything.  Thanks

Hey Newbie!  You are going to love your band! I was banded by Dr C in December last year.  I am going to his support group meeting this Saturday.. come join us if you can!!!

As for the Medifast.. I didnt do it at all. .it tasted like poop.  lol   I ate SF Jello, SF Pudding and broth only for 2 weeks.  Lost 22.5 lbs.

Kettering Medical Center has a group that usually meets monthly in the hospital cafeteria.  You can probably see the schedule on newlifesurgery.org.
