Has anyone used Nioxin hair care products?  Did you use it before surgery or after losing hair and how did it work out for you?  Just curious just started myself I have not had surgery yet hope to in mid to late September.  My stylist recommended starting now.

Your hair loss will be a reaction to anesthesia, and nothing's really going to prevent it (except for NOT going under anesthesia).  It will come in a few months, last a few weeks to a few months, then grow back.

If you pull up Nioxin on line you will see the different phases (for lack of a better word) that Nioxin has.  I would definitely start using it now.  I have very thin, fine hair and my hairdresser uses the scalp conditioner on me now. Peggy

I started using Nioxin 2 months pre-op but I had really thin hair anyway.  by the time I reached the prime stage for hair loss, I had grown some new hair in so the minimal amount of hair loss that I experienced didn't show.  I continue to use the scalp treatment daily and still getting some new hair. Sally's Beauty Supply carries thier own version of Nioxin, which is much cheaper. It is a 3 step system called "Nutri-Ox"
