I'm home and feeeeeeling great
My surgery was on Monday, Aug. 6th at St.Vincent Charity. I was operated on at 7:30 am and that night around 9 pm I was walking the halls with my nurse. AMAZING!! Then on Tuesday, a storm went thru downtown Cleveland and the power at the hospital went out. At one point, even the backup generator failed. All I could think of those poor people in surgery. The nurses on my floor were wonderful. They kept checking on all the patients and making sure we were all ok and not frightened. It got pretty dark for 10 am.... Well, its Saturday and I'm sitting at my computer with some applesauce and thinking about some soup. I've had no problems at all...no nausea, no pain, just twinges where the steri tape is. If ya have any questions, send me an email. I'll try to answer all your questions. One more thing...Dr. Ben Meir is great!!

I am 7 weeks (8 weeks on Tuesday) out and it's been okay. Weeks 2 thru 4 I developed severe pain in the abdominal muscles--Dr. Ben-Meir thinks I overused my muscles because I was feeling so good when I got home. So I was doing housework, driving, etc.
I really don't have any advice at this point except to take it easy.

P.S. I am also losing slowly.......which is a downer.
Hi Jill, glad to hear you are up and about. I had my surgery on the 2nd and had a so-so experience. I had alot of pain. For the most part the staff was helpful, howqever I had one nurse who was kinda a pain in the bum. The day after surgery I told her in our pre-op book it said to bring undies for the third day when the cath was removed...she dug through my belongings to get the book so I could show here were it said that because she has read the book....I had just been down at x-ray for 2 hours with no pain meds and was in no mood to search through the book (not to mention that the cath was out already) but now I want to go back up and show her where it said that just becuase i thought it was kinda rude.... but my other nurses were great. I am losing, not sure how much because my scale at home is different than the one at the hospital, so for my follow upp appt I am going to weigh myself here and then there so i know what to llok at at as far as what my actual weight loss was. Well, gonna get ready for the post-op meeting today Colleen
