I POSTED THIS ON THE MAIN BOARD AS WELL BUT SINCE YOU FOLKS ARE CLOSER TO MY DAUGHTER'S HOME, I THOUGHT I WOULD POST HERE TOO.  THANK YOU FOR READING. Here is the situation: My daughter in Ohio just learned that her ex-husband has been fired from his job.  She has not received child support for the last month and now will not be receiving anything for the foreseeable future.  She makes $7.00 an hour at a sandwich shop.  Her rent of $660 takes 3 weeks of pay.  The rest goes for utilities.  She gets food stamps and Medicaid but that does not help pay for school clothes or school fees for Danny. Danny is 13 (14 in November).  He is morbidly obese.  He weighs 230 pounds.  His obesity is due to Hashiomoto Disease.  He has NO thyroid function and will be on synthetic thyroid medication for the rest of his life.   The medication has done little to stop his weight gain but has resulted in some growth in height (a positive because he had stopped growing for a short time).

Danny wears size 38/30 men's jeans.  He wears size XL shirts.  He prefers athletic jerseys because they fit loosely over his large torso where he carries most of his weight.  He wears 38 waist knit boxer/briefs (because they help ease chafing between his legs).  He needs shoes, a warm coat for winter, socks and T-shirts as well.  He needs school supplies and money for school fees.  He plays football but it is strictly "pay to play".  This is his only form of recreation due to the family finances so we feel it is important for him to be able to play.  Danny starts school September 4th. I am asking mothers of other obese teenage boys to donate clothing that their own sons may have outgrown.  Men who have had WLS might also have clothing in these sizes that no longer fit them.  Of course, we need clothing that is gently used or new so that Danny is not embarrassed wearing them to school.   Grandpa and I cannot help our daughter.  We are still trying to pay off my surgery in April.  I had no insurance coverage and had to pay all of the costs myself.  We still owe $4000 on our credit card for the surgery.   Please consider helping my grandson.  You can send me a personal message if you would like to help and I will give you an address for my daughter in Ohio.  God bless each and every one of you who consider this request.

This too will pass, like a kidney stone but it will pass!
