anyone from cleveland area?

ACTUALLY I DON'T LAUGH WHEN I SEE THE SNOW, I MISS IT, BUT ONLY FOR A FEW MINUTES!!!! BUT I DO VERY MUCH MISS SOLON AND THE REAL PEOPLE OF CLEVELAND!!! FLORIDA IS BEAUTIFUL AND TROPICAL BUT NOT REAL!! I LOOK FORWARD TO OUR 2 WEEKS OF WINTER IN JANUARY!!! IT'S SO FUNNY, WHEN THE TEMP REACHES BELOW 70 U START SEEING THE FUR COATS COME OUT!!! I AM HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO PUT ON A SWEATSHIRT. PS I LIVE IN A CITY CALLED WESTON, BUT I HAVE RENAMED IT BRESTON - CAN U WORK THAT ONE OUT?? TAKE CARE

Hi everyone... I'm from Berea. I'm a newbe to the site. Have read alot of posts but have not really written. Had my surgery on 6/6/07 at St Vincents with Dr Ben Meir. Would love to have buddies to chat with. Also, I would like to attend support groups. Does anyone kow about the group meeting at Panerea Bread in North Olmsted? Trying to get info on when exactly they meet. Betsy

Dr. BM did my surgery on March 7.  Isn't he great??  I would also like to know when that support group meets in North Omsted.  As for chatting....count me in!  I'm always looking for someone to talk to. Shelley

Betsy, The only support group I know of is the one at St. V's.  I don't want to drive down there at night, park, etc.  I am interested in the North Olmsted one but I don't know when it meets. Shelley

Hi there, I grew up on the west side of Cleveland, moved to Portage County (Streetsboro) and then to Henderson Nevada in 1997.  Henderson is about 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. All of my children and grandchildren still live in Ohio: my daughter Traci Waldron is the Clerk of Council for Fairview Park, my son and daughter-in-law live on West 49th in Parma off of Brookpark, and my oldest daughter lives in Brimfield.   I miss lots of things about Cleveland: the West Side Market, the ethnicity of Cleveland, University Circle (I worked for Case Western Reserve University for 17 years), the beautiful old churches, downtown, the Cleveland Browns and the Indians, and most particularly the Metro Parks. What I don't miss: snow, ice, blizzards, narrow streets with lots of potholes, watching the deterioration of what was a majestic old city in the 50's.   I go back at least once a year just to stay in touch with old friends and to see my kids.  Think of me when the snow flies!

Figured i'd chime in. Grew up in Brunswick.  And for College and since been in the Akron area, currently in Stow. I work for a.... not sure how to term it. We make software that hospitals use in the wonder that is the insurance building cycle. I'm just in the start of the process. Going to have an assessment for the st. V. medical weight loss program soon.

Cleveland here too! 21 years in Parma 8 years in Cleveland  (west park area) Does anyone up here ever meet up?  (I dont mean a support group) Amanda

Hi amanda! how ya doin?  You look great congrats on the 70lb. weight loss that is how much I've lost! I had RNY in Apr. it's been tough but I'm glad I did it. I don't know of any support groups other than at cleve. clinic, which is where I had my surg. but I really hate going down there unless I have to ya know. I wish there was one around here.   I'd be happy to chat with you or maybe go for a walk sometime since we live so close, it's nice to talk to people who know what you're goin through.
