FEES
I know a lot has changed since 11/2003 when I had my WLS. Back then I only had to pay my co-pay and that was under $250 and that was it. No progran fee no support group fee etc. As far as I know up here in Dayton and Kettering a lot of doctors still have NO PROGRAM fees but SOME DO. You'll just have to check around other doctors and see what their fees are.
Good Luck,
Robin
The fees are part of the pre and post care. My fee was $1500, whi*****ludes 6 nutrition visits, one year of post op dr. visits, 3 months at an awesome workout facility with a trainer 2x per week, psychologist on call, one week of pre-surgery liquids, post surgery supplements and vitamns--have the doc breakdown exactly what the fee covers--I think it $$ well-spent.
Absolutely NOT!
Ask around. My doc only wanted a deposit to cover 6 months of copays, and at my 6 month appt, I was refunded nearly half of it.

IMO -- these 'fees' are to balance what the docs have undercut themselves out of their negotiation for fees from insurance companies. These fees are NOT covered by insurance, either.
