I have caresource and I live in the columbus area...I went today to see my PCP so I can get the paper work started for WLS at OSU...she didn't understand what OSU WLC wanted her to do I tried to explain it to her and she blowed me off I had to call in a nurse and a intern to have them look at the paperwork so they made copies of everything and put it my file and they said she would look at it again later....I am in good health so far i do have bad knee's and lower back and hip pain now too...I need a DR. that has experience with getting someone aproved that takes caresource ASAP.                         Thanks, Cindy

My PCP was also against my having this surgery. I was so discouraged by her and thought about finding a new PCP as well. Then it hit me, SHE was my employee. I pay her, I can fire her as well. I made another appointment and told her that I had researched this surgery, I was of sound mind if not body and if she chose to let her personal feelings about this surgery interfer with her medical judgement, then I would fire her and find another PCP who understood that I was seeking this surgery to better my health. We argued and yelled at each other and I stood my ground. She finally agreed to sign my papers and give me the needed information that my insurance required. Now she tells me that this surgery was the best thing that I ever did! Not so long ago, she told me that she thought I was using the surgeon within her medical building and that she had concerns about his ability. I told her that I had researched surgeons, met with many all over the country and had decided on the best surgeon out there! Perhaps it would help you to get some information about the surgeon you have decided upon and take it your PCP. While many physicians will not tell you about concerns that they have about other doctors, it could very well be that your PCP doesn't know the surgeon that youhave decided upon.. Many PCPs' simply are not that well informed about this surgery. My own was a perfect example. She didn't know the followup care that I required monthly about my B12 shots, nor the importance of blood work periodically. My surgeon gave me a list of needed maintenance that my PCP needed to complete. Hang in there and don't give up so easily on your PCP. Could be it is a case similar to mine. I am forever grateful to my bariactric surgeon and YES, my own PCP. Good Luck! Cathy
