Is there anyone on this forum who has had the VSG (Verticle sleeve)?  If so, can you tell me more about it, how you like it, how you are doing with your weight loss, etc.?  Does anyone of any doctors in or around Columbus who do this procedure?  Thanks,  Peggy

I've had it.  I am close to 4 weeks out, and so far I love it!  I have lost a total of 35 pounds.  I am in Cincinnati though, and don't know of a surgeon in Columbus.  Hopefully someone will reply!

I am researching the same and have found a doc at the Cleveland Clinic that does it. You may want to look into it, it might be worth the drive!!

I found out that Dr. Curry in Cincinnati is doing the surgery also.  We are in the process of moving to Columbus and it isn't that far from Cincy.  So, I'm looking into that for now.  Thanks and keep in touch!  Let me know how it goes. Peggy

I had this done.  Doing really well with it.  My wonderful doc is Dr. Schumacher. He is located in Dayto area, his office is located infront of the Sycamore Hospital. His staff is really good and kind. Their number is 937-384-6922. Wish ya the best of luck, Linda

If you look up at the top and on the left you will see surgery types.  Click on that, then on the Verticle Sleeve Gastrectomy.  It will explain what it is.  Basically they remove part of your stomach and it looks sort of like a banana.  Your stomach is smaller but they don't re-route any of the intestines.  So you don't have problems with malabsorbtion of vitamins and minerals. Peggy, Dr. Teel in Dayton is also doing the VSG now.  He just added it to the practice in the last two months. Tina
