need a doctor that will help

is there anyone from dayton,ohio? I went to see my family doctor about helping me lose weight . and she told me wouldn't give me an appetite supp.To help me with my weight loss or reccomend wls. and i'm 105lbs.overweight.is there anyone out there that knows a doctor that can help me.

I think Dr. Curry is in Cincinnati...and he is very well liked on these boards.

I'm from jeffersonville, not too far from Dayton, and my family doctor is Dr. Kevin Sharrett in Jamestown and he has been very supportive.  My surgeon, Dr. Teel (also Dr. Maguire) are at Miami Valley - Premier Bariatrics.  They are both wonderful!

You have all the Kettering Network as well as MV Hospital. Both have VERY GOOD docs.  Call the refferal numbers and go the the info seminars.  I went through Kettering with Dr. Rita Anderson.  Good Luck. Robin

Dr. Schumauker  he is wonderful.  He is located right in front of Sycamore Hospital.  His staff and he are super nice.  When I went in for my week ck up after surgery he could remember my vitals from the hospital without looking them up. Or were you needing help finding a pcp that will help you by backing you? Linda

hi, i am in dayton, trotwood in fact.  anyhow, my doctor is allison clarey.  she is a do.  to some people that makes a difference, but not to me.  she has an ace staff who answers all your questions, helps with your paperwork and anything else.  she has been doing surgery since 1979 and bariatric surgery for over 20 years.  their practice is Dayton Bariatric Center, offices in centerville and huber heights.  they perform surgery at grandview/southview,  and are designated a Bariatric Center of Excellence by the ABSA, and have been for several years i wouldn't hesitate to go there again in a heartbeat.  the after care program is very good also.  if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Hi Rhonda, Dr. Curry is well worth going to Cincinnati to see. He is kind, understanding and supportive. His staff is very well trained and great to work with. He did my rny 7/11/05 and my husband's lapband a couple months ago. He is most of all a great surgeon, and well repected in the wls community. The follow up care is wonderful, he will even anwser your e-mail questions. Good Luck on your road to getting healthy. Judi
