I started my journey at 350 lbs on surgery date of 3/6/07.  In the short time I lost 100 lbs.  Which Im truely happy about, but now its like Im not loosing anymore.  I need to loose at least another 100 lbs.  Does the weight loss slow down after the fourth month.  anyone let me know.

I am having the same thoughts!!  My surgery was 3/7 and I have lost 76 lbs.  I just told my husband I think I am "done".  I need to lose another 100 lbs also.  It's making me crazy.

I doubt that either of you are "done".  Most people with RNY continue to lose weight up to a year - some folks up to 2 years.  Its just that your bodies are adjusting to hte new caloric intake, your metabolism is adjusting to the new intake and out put (if you're exercising).  The weight loss will probably still come - it just won't be as easy as in the beginning.  Just continue following the rules, exercise like you're supposed to, and don't fret so much about it.  My weight loss comes in small spurts now - I'll drop 5 pounds or so in a week or two, and then go anywhere from3 -6 weeks without dropping an ounce....and then I'll lose a bit again....its MUCH MUCH (OMG, incredibly frustrating) slower now - but its still going down.  Just keep doing what you're doing - it'll keep moving.  I TRULY DOUBT YOU'RE DONE.  Just gonna have to start working it alittle harder now. Good luck.

Hang in there....You will start losing again.  Just keep following the plan.  Don't fall back into old habbits.  I did the same thing.  And then one day I started dropping.  I noticed I slowed down when I didn't get my water in.  Good luck you guys are doing GREAT Jane

Be patient with this tool. I well remember when I had lost my first hundred pounds that I too was done. It stopped, it started and it stopped again! I believe that the body has a way of making sure that it knows the path it has to go and tries to give the brain time to catch up. It can take up to 2 years before you lose it all. I remember when I got down to a size 16 thinking that I was done and i was soooo happy. Next thing you know I was down more weight and got to the point when I thought, is this ever going to stop? I got down to a size 4 and people were telling me that I was to skinny! SKINNY? Me? NO WAY! I eventually regained some weight and am now a comfortable size 12/14. Everyone is different and I had other health problems that caused me to also lose weight. Don't be discouraged. Your body is not done yet It is well worth the wait.
