Ohio Medicaid

Hi, I have one of the Ohio medicaid HMOs and it paid for my WLS . I had my RNY of Feb 28th of this year.  Good Luck Kristi

If you go to the call University Hospital or go to the web site they will get back with you.  I do know from all the meetings that I go to up there that you have to go to a hospital that has the distinction of being a "Center of Excellence".  If they don't have it then Medicaid won't pay no matter how many doctors think that you need the surgery.   The program at UH is GREAT!  Check it out!  I live in Doylestown and go up to Cleveland for both pre and post-op meetings.  The staff is top notch!    I am on Buckeye Commuity Health Plan and which is also a funded by Ohio Medicaid. I started looking into RNY on 3/21/07 and have my surgery date for 8/8/07. It would have been sooner but I caught an awful cold after my endoscopy. Which delayed it about 5 weeks. I am having my procedure done at Akron City Hospital.      So in response to your question...... yes they do cover it!!!
