Akron??

Anyone in here from Akron or the Akron area?  I am SERIOUSLY considering joining a triathlon held at Portage Lakes in September.  Anyone familiar with the lake?  They say "chest deep" water - just wondering if anyone can confirm that is the truth.  My workout partner doesn't swim well, and won't go unless she's sure she can touch the bottom. Also, if anyone is interested in doing this race with me - please get with me.  I've never attempted such a thing - but I really really want to. Anyone game?? Hi! I am from the Akron area, but only recently so am not familiar with the height of Portage Lake. (I live in Summit County.) I am intrigued by this triathlon...I will look up the info. you've provided and get back with you. I never would have dreamed that I'd be capable of such a thing, but you never know.... hugs, Karen

No problem on the late reply!!  I don't know if I can be ready for this race by September anyway...its like 6 weeks away, and my weightloss has nearly stoppd, and with summer schedules - I haven't trained (or exercised at all) like I need to... I haven't totally thrown in the towel...but if I don't get to a lake and swim a couple times SOON, I simply won't be able to attempt this, THIS YEAR.  I will do it eventually - I really will!

and for the love of pete, ignore that I 'm logged in under the wrong name...obviously thats my secret pal (and now I've blown that secret).... I posted last night too...and then went back and deleted them all...I think I'll just sign out of that name and back into my regular name and not worry about it.  She doesn't log on much anymore anyway... ugh.
