The waiting is the hardest part?

New to the board and a first time poster, so glad I found this site!

I completed my pre op work (psych eval,12 week nutrition, all my testing) through Fresh Start at Riverside and have now been submitted to my insurance and the wait is heck on my nerves! I have Aetna insurance and have been praying everyday that they will approve.  Anyone else waiting for approval and working with Fresh Start? Send good vibes my way!

Good luck to you!  I just got a call from Aetna today to tell me that I was approved!   All of my paperwork was just faxed over yesterday and approved this afternoon.  So I am sure your will go through quickly too.  It really depends on who your nurse advocate is.  I was told by one that it takes about a week, but I work for a big company and we have dedicated people there for our group.  I highly suggest calling customer service and ask them to transfer you to your nurse advocate.  That way you can just ask if they received your paperwork and if they have any questions for you.  Then you are not just a person on paper, but a live human being.  That seemed to work for me.     Good luck to you.  I will keep my fingers crossed!!!

 

Hi! I had RNY with Dr. Myers on June 18.  I have HealthReach insurance and was approved in 2 days.  Cheri is really good about working with the insurance companies and getting those approvals through as quickly as possible.  Of course, since it's a holiday week, it might take a bit longer.  Dr. Myers and everyone at Riverside and Fresh Start has been wonderful!  Hang in there and let us know when you get approval!
