Bernadette,
Find a bariatric surgeon who knows that they are doing. Cleveland Clinic or maybe Pittsburgh. One of the Centers for Excellences would be able to help you out. Most PCPs don't have a clue as to what issues bariatric patients have to be aware of and don't know what questions to even ask you.
Good luck.

Protein, protein, protein!!
There are some absolutely DELICIOUS protein powsers at Bariatriceating.com. I just ordered their sample pack (about 50 bucks total with shipping) I am AMAZED at how GOOD these taste. You should be getting 100 gms MINIMUM protein and it is EASY to do with these shakes. (no, i'm not a paid endorser! lol)
But seriously sweetie, you worked too long and hard for this tool to give up on it. How much protein a day are you getting right now? If you dont know, then sign up for fitday.com or sparkpeople.com and use their free tools and FIND OUT!!
I repeat, fight this thing with the best tool you have... protein!!!
Good luck and prayers to you,
Joan
