anybody take toprol?

    hi i just started taking toprol and was wondering if anybody here had any problems with it?

Hi I was on Toprol up to and including the morning of my surgery.  I was on Toprol XL which is extended release so after surgery I could no longer be on it.  They switched me to another form of BP meds which I stayed on for only 3 1/2 weeks then I was off meds all together. I had taken Toprol 50mg for 4 years and I never had any problems with it. Good Luck,  Debbie

you never felt dizzy? and sleepy?

I am on Tropol XL now and will have to change it after surgery because it is time released.  But no I never had any problems with it. Call and see if this is a serious side effect.  Sometimes it takes the body time to adjust to a new med. Good luck& Blessings Tina

I took Toprol before surgery and was nery dizzy and lightheaded.  I felt tlike I was going to tip over sometimes.  I had to change it, Thankfully my surgery was not long after that.  They thought at first it was bringing my BP to low, but it was not bringing it down.  I was on meds for about 2 wks after surgery and now none, and a perfect BP!!!!!! hi my cardiologist gave it to regulate my heart rate.i normally have low blood pressure anywhere from 100 to 120. sometimes it does go up to 145. i dont think ill take it anymore. i cant handle those side effects. it made me feel like i wasnt really conscious and so very dizzy and weak. did you have your surgery yet? my email is [email protected] em
