Anyone started the Gastric Bypass program at Mt. Carmel?
I wanted to see if there was anyone on this board that is currently (or previously) going through the Gastric Bypass program (Mid Ohio Surgical Associates) at Mt. Carmel in Columbus?
I am in the midst of working on my checklist and was wondering how long it took to get into the surgeon for the first time? I sent my $300 administrative fee in almost two weeks ago but have not heard from anyone. In the mean time, I have been scheduling my appts. with the Dietician, Sleep Study, and Psych Eval.
Regards, Marie
Hi Marie --
I gave up on the Mt. Carmel program when I couldn't even get anyone to return my phone calls! Have you checked out the program at Riverside? The surgeon actually runs the information session (which is held every week) and then they do all of your screenings (including psych) in one day -- they don't expect you to chase down the appointments, everything is set up for you in one place. Most importantly, their outcomes are excellent. My surgery date with them is June 18 and I am so excited! Good luck!

p.s. I would have posted sooner but haven't been online lately.
I do know people who have been through Mt. Carmel and did very well. More importantly - Dr. Choban used to be at the Bariatric Center in Groveport. SHE IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! I cannot say enough about her. She is definately worth the way. She is an expert. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
