Fresh Start Question/Concern / any insight? - Columbus
Hi - I have been going through the pre-surgery program wiht Fresh Start - I'm getting mixed info from various folks whether it is the intake coordinator or nuts - I'm also having a heck of a time getting a hold of anyone live to get a status check - the last time I tried to get ahold of them, after three voicemails and an email, I caught the coordinator live - Does anyone have any suggestion on how to get some answers from the Fresh Start Staff? I know they are no longer in the McConnell building and I am to the point of frustration I'm thinking about driving down there to get to talk to someone face to face. I am in the process of losing a little bit more weight to reach my insurance's BMI requirement but I want to make sure all of my paperwork is in order so when I hit my goal, they can send it in for approval right away. I also heard the post surgery workouts and training is no longer through the McConnell center so i want to ask questions about that too since I've already given them a down payment - does anyone have any insight???? or similar experiences??? I would hate to have to go check out other programs at this point but I'm considering it. Thanks for your help - this site is soooo great!
Hi Kathy, Yes the support group has started for Fresh Start. Right now, the mtgs are every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 500 Thomas Lane. Last time the mtg was in Group Room G. I don't know if it changes each month or not. Hopefully I am doing well since my procedure. I have an appt w/ Dr. Myers this afternoon. I'll update you w/ what he says. I am up eating, drinking, walking, shopping, pooping w/ very little pain. I may have gotten a tad dehydrated at first but hopefully I have been able to resolve that w/o hospitalization. I am ten days post-op and taking very minimal pain med. Usually just in the evening now. I hope to get the drain removed today. No regrets having the surgery at this time.
