Lapband Patients .....Does anyone with the lap band experience passing out?
Nycia,
I have noticed that I feel like that from time to time, especially if I have had absolutely no sugar. When it happens, try eating some jello that is NOT SF. It helps me a lot. I was getting dizzy and almost so weak that I couldn't hold myself up, but found that this was a helpful solution. Hope it works!

Nikki,
I chose Lap Band over RNY for a couple of reasons. First, my mother had RNY in 2002. She lost so much weight so fast that for a long time she didn't feel good about herself, because of the saggy skin. I wanted to be able to loose it slowly to cut down on the sasggy skin. Also, she is now 120 soaking wet and can't seem to gain any weight back, but I want to stop loosing at about 160, so with the LB I am able (or will be able) to gain some weight back if I loose too much or feel that I am too skinny. LB is also safer (less chance of seapage), and if ever need be, more easily reversable (hopefully I won't need it to be). There is also less recovery with LB. I was back to work in 5 days, and feeling great. My mother on the other hand was not so lucky. She begged me not to do RNY because of her experience. Now that is not saying that it's bad for everyone. The people that choose to have that procedure have their own reasons. These are just the reasons I chose to have LB instead. I don't want to step on anyone's toes or offend anyone with my opinions, so please, don't take it that way. These are just the things I thought about and considered before I made my decision. If you ask me if I would do it again (only being 6 weeks out) I would say in a heartbeat. My mom would have given you the same answer when she was about 9 months out. Until then, she would have said she wished she hadn't done it. But, like I said, she had a bad experience and that doesn't mean that everyone does. I hope that everyone sees this as my personal reasons and doesn't take offense because that was not my intentions.
