Any other Dr White patients? (Toledo)

Hello all. I'm a newbie and looking for others that have Dr White as their dr. I went to the seminar in April and was approved by the end of the month. I'm so excited and nervous. I've been looking around this site for some time now learning more about the procedure, reading others experiences and so far it gives me great hope. So I feel I better get to knowing others in the area and learning more hands on experiences. After all the more you know the better. So here I am looking for the others. I will be doing all my dietician and pretesting in the next few weeks and I hope to have the surgery in early July. I'm starting to get more excited then nervous but I'm sure the week of and especially the day of, i'll ******vous wreck. LOL Linda

Linda, I'm not one of Dr White's patients (Dr. Lane in BG did my DS) but I am in Fulton Co. Are you planning on the RNY? I'd love to help you if I can. Good luck to you and congrats! Kim

Hi Kim, Yes, I'm planning on having the RNY done. I've learned I love this site. The forums are great. I think I'm learning more from them then from the different websites I've visited. Hearing peoples personal experiences are so informative. And this site is the best. People really seem to be helpful to one another and its great to have that kind of support to lean on. My family is split half and half about me having this done. My hubby and dad are all for it. My sister on the other hand says she supports me but then in the next breath has to remind me of all the bad things that could go wrong and wishes I would reconsider. Thats when I come here and read all the success stories and can't wait to include my own. I quit smoking 2 months ago in order to have this surgery and if I can do that (which I never thought I would be able to) I can't see myself having any problems with this. Yes, I am nervous. I'd be crazy if I wasn't. But seeing all the great success stories gives me so much confidence that I wish the surgery was today! Thanks for offering any help if I may need it. Linda

Hi Linda!!  I didn't have surgery with Dr. White...but like Kim I am in Fulton County too.  I am four months out and couldn't be more happy that I had surgery.  I'd love to chat if you need someone to talk to!
