5 Years post op and scared
I had my Roux en Y on May 16, 2002 and my gallbladder removed September 2003. Last Monday (4/23/07) I ate lunch at a place I frequent. I ate 1/2 of a sanwich (which I've eaten many times before) and about 1 cup of applesauce (which I've eaten many times before). I came back to work and I felt miserable. I thought that maybe I had overdone it by eating the applesauce AND 1/2 of the sandwich. I had this horrible pain in my upper abdomen (underneath my breasts) and it hurt to sit down (felt like my organs were being smooshed together) and it hurt to lie down flat on my back. I ended up vomiting. Not much of my lunch came up. I still felt pretty bad and then I vomited again in my wastebasket (at my desk). I ended up going home early from work and I felt miserable for hours. The next day I was fine. Then last night I went to Wendy's inbetween my full-time job and my 2nd job and got dinner. I had a small fry (which I've eaten before) and a cripsy chicken sandwich from the 99 cent menu. I felt exactly the same pain/discomfort. I chewed 2 Rolaid soft chews and had to leave my cash register to vomit them almost right back up. Then I went home 2 hours early from work and had some flat ginger ale, but didn't feel much better. I drank some Peptol Bismal and vomited it right back up. I'm scared that I have something REALLY wrong with me. Anyone's opinions, advice, or help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Hi Rachelle
i will be 5 years in Sept. I also recomend seeing the doctor.
I think i know what you're talking about because i've felt the same way several times. I just hand things off to my husband and tell him i'll see him in about an hour. One time it lasted 3 hours
However everything always comes back fine and dandy.
I know this is weird... but the amount and what I eat have changed so much in the last year. Actually most changes on a day to day basis. I feel like I have to relearn how to eat *again*.
do you ever feel like that?
