I'm just 8 days away from surgery and I catch a cold. I have the runny nose. itchy eyes and sore throat. Any qucik fixes out there please. J

Just get to your dr you can get it cured beforwe surgery . I always tell people to start their vitiams way ahead of surgry. Best wishes. You in for a great jorney. Barb

Thanks I'm an avid taker of vitiams not a day without it. My nurse called me last week and told me to stop taking them. I will call my Dr tomorrow if not better. J

I also caught a cold a few days after my surgery. When I called my doctor, he told me that I could take children's liquid tylenol. Best to call your doctor though to check and see what he advises. Best of luck!

I'm drinking lots of OJ (while I can). I did take to Tylenol for the aches and pains J

Yes! Zicam!! It is a over the counter remedy of zinc that you spray up your nose. It will lessen the intensity of the cold and cut the time you have it in half. I am never without this stuff, it always works for me and my family. If your eyes are itchy are you sure it's a cold and not seasonal allergies? Zicam won't work for that, but allergies shouldn't affect your surgery. Good Luck!! Cal

Thanks for your response. I have some Zicam and giving it a shoot. I haven't had problems with allergies before, however I'm going to try some allergy med also. J

I too caught a cold when I was about 8 days away from surgery. As long as my lungs were clear I was told that it wouldn't be a problem. And it wasn't! I had my surgery on time. Good luck.
