Insurance - UHC Choice Plus

I have United Health Care CHoice Plus. I called customer care and was told that while WLS was excluded on my plan, they would review cases if doctors deemed it a medical necessity. Now folks at OSU say that in their experience the WLS probably won't be covered--that it is an exclusion period. What are my options at this point? If WLS is excluded, am sol?

I have that plan, and they are paying for my surgery. However, it was not an exclusion in my policy. I have the UHC Choice Plus Definity. My cost is around 5200.00 but, they didnt make me jump through hoops. 5 years of being overweight BMI over 40 over 21 years of age and doctor and facility in network. My family doctor required a stress test and a reless by a Cardioligist that was it. Michele
