I'M Back...............

Hi Everyone, Back home from surgery, got home Saturday afternoon. Very uneventful, Dr Ben Meir said one of the easiest surgeries he has completed. Things are going well, just making sure I am getting fluids and proteins in plus calories. If I had to pick one thing that absolutely bothered me was the drain tube. My tube became plugged so they had to "milk" it which was just pinching the tube and pushing the fluids to the container. Well.....the first time they did that to me I about fainted from the pain, they said only a select few have pain when they do that, most just have discomfort, leave it to me to have pain with that. When they pulled the drain tube out that was another issue of pain but not as intense. I met a woman that was having a Fistual (sp.?) repaired. She came into the holding area with me prior to surgery. It ended up her husband was Dr Ben Meir's assistant so I got to meet him before surgery also, spent some time talking with him and his wife then he had to go get ready for surgery, mine!! Dr Ben Meir was wonderful and has an excellent bedside manner. I'll post more later..... Debbie

Debbie, So glad that you are home and everything went well. I have to agree with you about the drain tube. They are supposed to "milk" it everytime they drain it out. The first time they did that I was "what the heck". But now everything should be easier. Welcome to the losing side.
