Insurance Question-Caresource

Does any one know if medicaid has changed the rules for the surgery. I've switched to Caresource-which is a managed care program, I think? I've been off the board for quite some time, got disappointed becuase I was turned down, even appealed it, and was still turned down. So I was hoping that things have changed since I've switched to Caresource. Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Julie K. Brunswick, Ohio

Julie..............not sure about Caresource but I changed from medicaid to Buckeye and from what I am told it is a bit easier especially if you have co-morbids and the right paperwork in on time and done properly. Where are you going for surgery.....who is surgeon? Hang in there and try, try, try again. I keep at it and hope it will happen soon. I go to surgeon May24th to resubmit to new insurance and I am keeping my fingers crossed. I will cross them for you as well.

Carolyn.... thanks for answering my question. I'm hoping it will be easier this time. I have an obese dr, who seems to understand where I'm coming from and seems more willing to help than my old pcp. She even suggested it and this was my only 2nd visit with her. So things are looking good from the start. When I had healthy start, medicaid I had choosen Dr. Hallowell, but since I've switched to caresource, I'm not sure if he accepts caresource, and then I'm not sure if I will have to go thru Metro Healths system to get all of the help that I need to get approved, if you know what I mean. Julie, how far from Cleveland Clinic are you? I am pretty sure they accept Caresource....and they do all the paperwork for pre-authorization you just need to make sure your pcp gets them all needed info and records that support your reasoning for WL surgery.
