It will be a month after surgery for me on the 21st.....The problem i'm having is I really hate yogurt and warm breakfast cereals. I do love gritts and poached eggs with vinegar. I know they only want you to eat egg whites with out the yolks. I did eat a little bit of gritts with 2 poached eggs the other morning and I chewed it up good and it seemed to go down ok. Should I stop or what....could use some help here folks. Dave

I was under the impression that the protein from the egg is in the yolk. Also at 4 weeks out I had moved on to crunchy things. What about jello, cottage cheese, pudding, soup......anything sound good? Sorry I couldn't help more. good luck Tina

The problem is I also hate pudding...I do love cottage cheese though.....another problem I have is I have a heart problem and I'm not supposed to have alot of salt. I try to stay under 1000 gr a day. But the refried beans sound really good and I thought I'd get a small chili too and blend it. Thanks Ladies....

HI Dave, Im with you on the grits. I could eat them all day long. Love them little babies. I love eggs over easy and just started to eat them about 2 weeks ago. I dip my WELL toasted toast in the yokes and Im in heaven. My understanding from my NUT and Dr is that if you are able to eat it and it has nutritional value and its not really slimmy and doesnt slip down then its OK. I just choose to find better things to eat. Like instead of the maple/brown sugar oatmeal, I have the plain. I feel that if you are able to tolerate it AND it is good for you then have it. Thats just my opinion but the obvious answer would be to contact the NUT for your program and see if they have any suggestion. Hope that helps. Have a great day =)

Dave, I know most people wouldnt consider it a breakfast item.. But at a month out I was craving FLAVOR and refried beans with shredded cheese in them saved my sanity.. They were nice and smooth and had plenty of taste and protein. I bought the fat free version and the lowfat cheese. I still love them as a snack. Best of Luck to you Dave Hugs Miss Laura-Licious
