I am over 100 lbs over weight joining weigh****chers for the who knows how many times.. also goint to try they Y.... I have done this many of times... I checked my Ins. policy and it said that it for Weight Loss surgery it would pay 50% and I had to be on a 18 mo. Dr. supervised diet .... before it would pay.... Has anyone had the Vertical Banded Gastroplasty? How did it go? May I ask how much time from work did you miss.. ( I work for a group of Dr. they are Radiation Oncologist and we are partially self insured) I work in the business office and have a sit down job... No labor at all.... also would you be so kind to share the cost .... if I have to pay 50% I need to know what I am looking at... plus I dont have a lot of time off.... And last but not least... how was the recovery and results.... Thank you so much....

WELCOME TO Ohio OH. I hade Open RNY back in 2003 but I know more and more WLS are being done LAP so recovery time is a lot less but I'm sure you should take off at least 1-2 weeks. What part of Ohio are you in? or Where do you want your surgery? what doctors take your insurance? Have you looked up http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeons+in+ohio.html That list a lot of docs and what type of surgery they do. I know a lot of people here have used Dr.Curry he is in Cincinnati. He does LAP BAND. I don't know if that is the same thing or not. I know his prices are in line and he is very good very good, I've been looking up LAP BAND for my hubby. Sorry I can't be more help. Good Luck, Robin
