I have an appointment with Anita Maximin in Strongsville this thursday...I guess there was a cancelation, so I am going to meet her and then take the MMPI... I did not think that it was required by my insurance, however the seceratry told me everyone had to take. Does anyone know if the MMPI is an a requirment before the surgery can take place, or is it dependant on the counselor or the insurance? Has anyone seen Anita Maximin? Thanks for any feedback! Colleen I had my surgery at St. V's back in May of 06 and I know an MMPI was required don't know if it's insurance or the program that requires it. I know I have Medicare as my insurance provider. Patience is everything when your on this journey trust me impatience will make it seem like an even longer process than what it is, trust me been there done that. Good luck in your journey and may god bless. Jim

Hi Coleen!! I was told by my insurance co., that they require you to have a psych evaluation & want the results to your MMPI & your Psych Dr's evaluation sent in with all other paper work. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Dr. Maxim did mine too. You may need to keep on the office to submit the report. They never submitted mine and 2 days before PAT I was calling their office to ask for it. It FINALLY showed up during PAT. I was under the impression that ANY treatment for a mental health issue (depression related to PCOS was mine) gave an automatic psych eval. That was a year ago and things may change. Knowing that you are OK mentally is a plus for this surgery...I had a couple really good meltdowns right after surgery even being on anti-depressants. Gabby

Hi, thanks for responding! I will definatly be keeping on the office because I cannot get submitted to insureance without that report! So I was hooping to have my surgery the beginning of June if all went well, now with this confusion I may end up having to pu**** back a bit. I needed a psych eval for insurance, I was under the impression that my insurance did not require an MMPI so when the office said i needed one, I was confused... But hey it is 1.5 hours of my life and if it helps to get this surgery, it was 1.5 hours I could not have spent doing anything better! Thanks again for the heads up about keeping on top of the office. Did they send it reight to St. V's or did you have to go get it? Thanks again! Colleen
