Questions about St. Vincents Psych Eval
Hello, I am really frustrated today and I need to vent and ask a couple of questions. Here is the story, I saw my psych doc on March 5th and asked her if she would be willing to do my psych eval for surgery she said yes (she is a resident so i have only seen her twice to check in say I am fine and get my meds refilled). Then last week she called and said she would like to meet with me again to discuss things further. I said fine, she gave me a date of mid april and I asked for something sooner so I could get everything submitted for insurance so we agreed on 4/5. So this afternoon I get a call and she needs to reschedule, but has an opening for tomorrow, I am fine with that and agree to the new day and time. TWO HOURS later she calls and tells me she is not comfortable doing the evaluation and that she set up an appointment with some psychologist at the cleveland clinic (where my doc is) for May 1st. Her reasons were that although she felt like I was able to go through with the surgery psychologically she did not know me well enough to know about evrything else! Did she not realize that she did not know me a month ago, a week ago or even two hours before!!!!! AHHHHHH and they wonder why people are on meds...it is because thier doctors drive them to meds to stay in business....lol so there is my sob story thanks for reading!
So my real question is did anyone do thier psych eval through st. vincents and how long was the wait to get an appointment?
Thanks Colleen
Coleen, My psych. eval. was done on the basis of which psychologist accepted my ins. They gave me several names, and I picked one. Yeah, had to wait a couple weeks, two appointments. I did have surg. at St. Vincent, but I think it helps if you have a psychologist that is familiar with bariatrics. You'll get there! Good luck, Doug
