Hey Colleen, Haven't been on for awhile, just saw your post. Dr Ben-Meir does surgeries M-Th, and he does 2 a day. As for the PAT's if I remember right, they will schedule them on any day of the week. They are very accomodating, I was able to have the day of my choice. The only thing you can not choose is the time of surgery and you don't find that out until the day before. Hope everything is going smoothly for you. Debbie

Colleen, I do not know what days his surgeries are - but I would say M-TH. He had to fit me in last Monday for gallbladder removal... and he saw me before his surgeries on Tuesday. Since I had the Lap Band last year - I know they were doing one PAT day for lap banders a month... but things may have changed since then. I just want to wish you luck with all of your paperwork and stuff.. Congrats on your upcoming surgery! You will be on the losing side in no time! ~Starr~

Hey Colleen, My Pat's were on a Friday and my surgery was originally scheduled on a Wednesday and then moved to Monday. So I think the M-TH thing sounds right and he does only do two per day (one at 7am and then one at 11 am). He see's patients after surgery's in the afternoons. Here's a little tip to keep in mind. If you work and will be receiving STD (Short Term Disability) from your employer, most insurance companies do not consider the bowel prep as a day of disability. Your first day of disability coverage kicks in or becomes effective THE DAY YOU BECOME PHYSICALLY (in this case) DISABLED (meaning your surgery date). As you know, you will have to do the bowel prep (which is no fun at all. No one EVER prepares you for that) the day before your surgery so check with your employer b/c the bowel prep will more than likely not be considered a day of disability (although you feel like you are ). If they do you will be very fortunate. You will probably have to take either personal/sick/vacation time for that. So if you can try to get your surgery date on a Monday. That way you can do the bowel prep on Sunday. Hope this helps. Have a great night!!! Kym
