WOW the pain is more than I remembered with the RNY. I am still on liquids, it is still hard to eat .. but a little better each day. Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I had a pocket of adhesions that my bowel was droppping in and out of causing the obstruction. Weird but true. Now that that is removed and the hernia repared I am following all post op orders and trying to eat and keep moving to keep more from forming. Thank you all \ Pam

I was originally hoping for some plastics this fall... but after this I am a little surgery shy...I will probably wait until next spring anyway..I just hate those darn drains! They don't hurt, I just don't enjoy them. Pam

Pam: I have not heard from you for a while. I am still sturggling too. Who did your latest surgery? Dr Vig? I am still seeing him every 3 months until I get my blood levels where they should be... Glad to hear that you are okay now. Lois

Lois, it is great to hear from you. My insurance will not cover Dr Vig as of this year. THis surgery was Dr. Myers the bariatric doc at Riverside. I like him a lot. I did not hear anything from my last labs so they must have been ok. It's been a week now, I just feel like I am not moving too well. Dr Myer said it's to be expected with everything he had to do in there. I am kind of surgeried out right now. i had 2 venous surgeries in the fall on my legs so this made 4 in a year... I am done for awhile. Are you better? Any success with the surgery last Aug? I have thought about you often...I'm so glad you posted. Pam

I am having problems with my insurance covering Dr Vig too. All of my visits to him so far have still been under the initial surgery and post op care, so I am okay for now. The surgery in August that I had at Cleveland Clinic has helped me. The surgeon there was really great, and he said that he would make me better, and he did. I still am having lots of problems eating and getting in my protein. I have ended up buying the 3 ounce bullets that are 40 grams of protein, and having one of them a day to boost my protein intake. There are still so many things that I can not eat, sometimes I wonder if I will ever be able to eat again. It has been 17 months since I had my RNY, and I still eat like someone that is only a couple of weeks out. Protein drinks, soft foods, etc. I still have no appetite, and have lost over 150 pounds now. Dr Vig said not to lose any more, but that is really hard to do when I can not get in enough in one day!!!! Stay in touch!!!!! You look great from your picture!!!! Lois
