I Have a Date!!!

HIP-HIP HURRAY!!!!! My pre-adm testing is next week, March 29th and my surgery date is scheduled for April 25th!!! I am on cloud 9 right now!!!! I had my knee appointment today and I totally blew out my knee and tore every major ligament and have a fractored knee cap. I know, it stinks! However, the good news is my knee doctor won't even attempt surgery on my knee till 8 wks from now so he suggested I go ahead with the RNY surgery. He is fitting me with a knee brace that will allow me to walk with one crutch and a little more mobility so I will be able to get around better. He said it will fare better for my knee if I take some weight off. It will heal faster. So, here I go... this will be the year of surgeries for me. First the RNY surgery, then the knee surgery, then after that I have to go back and have hernia repair surgery. My family is going to have deal with a mother out of commission for a while...yikes! Lisa, Congratulations on your surgery date. I got my date a couple of weeks ago, my surgery is scheduled for April 10th. I go next Tuesday for my pre-op testing. WE will be on the losing side together. Good Luck Annetta

Lisa, Very exciting news. I was wondering how your knee appt went. Im so happy for you. You know, that does make sense about your healing being faster once you lose weight from the RNY. Wow, April 25th it will be here before you know it!!! Boy when it rains it pours huh? You will be fine. I hope you have a great support system. Keep us posted and best wishes to you. Kym =)
