insurance ???????
Has anyone else had insurance that will only pay 50% and then everything else that I pay will not go toward my deductible? Nothing will even go to my out of pocket expenses. I am trying to figure out just how much this whole thing is going to cost me and if there is some kind of assistance from the hospital etc.....to let me continue on with this??? any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Deedee,
We are seeing this more and more. I know it's hard but look on the bright side, at least you have some coverage. There are so many patients who need this surgery who have no coverage whatsoever.

Hi Deedee,
I am in Grove City - Columbus area - and have Aetna. I had surgery in 2005 and my insurance only paid 50%. It is really hard to explain here how the whole thing worked. E-mail me and I would be happy to give you my # and can explain the whole thing. It was quite detailed.
Good luck,
Shellie
Well, I have to pay my deductabel 1125.00 and then the next 20% till I reach 5,000.00. At that point my insurance will go to 100 %. So the estimate I have been given was 5125.00. This is UHC Choice Plus Definity. However the upside is my only qualifications were BMI over 40 / over 21 years old/ 5 years of overweight history/ and DR. and Hopital in network. So I had my first consult 1-24-07 and my Surgery is set for 4-17-07. I consider my self blessed it went so quick. And always a price to pay somehow. I am hoping the Pros will be less medications, and better health. The best Pro of the surgery is I am almost 7 weeks smoke free. And no intentions of starting again.
