I got APPROVED!!! ...but I have a delema...

I just got the phone call today that my insurance has approved the surgery. YAAAH!!! But talk about bad timing.... Last week I blew out my knee (don't ask how I did it ), and I'm on crutches with a straight legged brace/cast. I go in this Thursday to see if I will need surgery on my knee. I'm so mad because I think this will post-pone my BP surgery that I've been waiting to have for 9 long months! I just can't see myself trying to hobble around on crutches after stomach surgery....lol! Oh well, at least I got my approval!!! Hopefully my knee won't need surgery and I can schedule my BP surgery in a month or 2. Cheers! Lisa

Oh no! I would be concerned about the mobility of your leg and how that would affect blood clots forming. It would be something I would ask the different doctors and surgeon. Good luck with both the knee and weight loss surgery.

You know I never even thought about the blood clot factor. Definately something I will have to consider & ask my doctor about. I've come this far I certainly can wait a few more months. Thanks for the tip!

Congrats Lisa!!.....I have my surgery on Wednsday. I had a "Greenfield" filter put in today for blood clots. I thought they stayed in forever but the doctor told me they will take it out in 6 weeks. Check into the filter..... Dave

Hey Lisa, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Im so sorry to hear about your leg. I live MURPHYS LAW too so I feel your pain. I got approved in Oct of 2006 and had to wait until Feb 07 for my surgery (St. V required my Out of Pocket Max upfront ($2375). No way could I afford that so I had to wait until new year and Annual Enrollment) Oh Well. Best Wishes to you and I hope you don't need surgery for your knee. Kym
