I have about 8 pills that I have to take each day. My surgery is on the 21st of this month. Does anyone have any ideas on how to take them after surgery on the liquid phase?.....I have a heart problem and I have to take them (I think) the rest of my life. Thanks in advance, Dave

I Dave, I had my surgery on the 7th. and I'm crushing my larger vitamin and the others are small enough to go down just fine with some water. Just don't gulp your water!! Good luck!

Dave, I take a LOT of pills myself. During the liquid phase take the pills as normal, but don't gulp your water down. You will no longer be able to take extended release pills after your surgery just as FYI. Good luck, Sandy

Hey Dave, Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. As far as the medicine, talk to your doctor while you are in the hospital (or before). Sometimes the medication that you are on may come in liquid form so ask the Dr. to write a prescript for it if he is able. If not, you can crush them and put them in a small amount of liquid (I use one of the really small Glad containers with about 1 or 2 Tablespoons of liquid and let mine dissolve and then drink it). Its just the right amount of liquid that you don't have to take a big gulp to get it down. I hope this helps. Best wishes to you!!! WOW only 3 more days to go!!! Kym

I haven't had my surgery yet either but, I would check with my surgeon about the pills. I've heard of people not even taking some of their meds after their surgery. Sooo...check with you doctor . Good luck with your surgery, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers on Wednesday. Peggy

During your liquid phase you can use a pill crusher and add them to a sugar free drink I used the Walmart Brand of Crystal Light it masked the bitter taste. After the liquid phase if your having problems you can crush them and add them to a no sugar added applesauce. Jus****ch the labels and make sure there's 5 grams of sugar or less because I ran into a lot of problems with things saying no sugar added or sugar free and they weren't. You can also ask your pharmacist to see if they can get the pills in a liquid form for you.
