Had the consult....I'm on my way!!!!
Had my consult with Dr. Lane on Friday. Well, it was with Amy, but anyway. She made me feel better, looked at me, at my weight, and at me again and said that I didn't look my big huge number
Anyway, we set some goals, and I go back on April 10th for a weigh in. 6 hours in the car for a 45 minute appointment.....and i'll be dragging the kids with me next time. Oh well, it's do that for 3 months of hoop jumping, or go through my physician for 6 months of hoop jumping.....I'll make the drive.
First order of business....give up the Dr. Pepper. So my last one was on the way home on Friday. I didn't have problems with the headache......fortunately I threw out my back Wednesday, so I had a nice supply of Vicodin, ultram and some leftover percocets to ease my way out of the caffeine withdrawals . (I'm not a dope fiend...but I get kidney stones a lot, compounded with a bad back....) So today no headache, but I was jonesing so bad...
I went to the fridge and stared at DH's Diet Coke with Lime and was so weak, I nearly opened one of those nasty things....
Then my little boy came over to me, and I realized that he was more important than a soda, I have to do this for me, and for my kids. I closed the fridge.
Anyway, 3 months of hoop jumping, then we see where we are......
Hi Amy
Congrats on the consult. I just got my date for surgery, April 19th. I know about giving up the pop. I told my husband that I would give up my pepsi when I got a date. Well they called me yesterday afternoon and I have not had any pepsi since then. We'll see how it goes, it has only been 19 hrs, which I was sleeping for 8 of those. LOL
Good Luck to you and keep us posted!
Debbie
Hi Amy,
Best wishes to you sweety! You have the right attitude. Your kids deserves a healthy and happy mom. Kinda makes the pop seem less important when you put it in that context.
I hope all continues to go well for you and once you are on the other side of the surgery, that 6 hour drive for 45 minutes won't seem such a feat.
ps... where are you at that you have a 6 hour drive? Are you not close to any other facilities or is it an insurance thing? just wondering. You can tell me to mind my own business if you'd like.
Have a great day
Kym
Ah,
It's about 3 hours each way. I'm east of Columbus and Dr. Lane is in Bowling Green, near Toledo. There are not Dr.s in Columbus that do DS, which is what I want.
oh, but wouldn't a Dr. Pepper taste so good right now....ugh. What was I thinking by giving up caffeine and sugar on Daylight Savings Time weekend?
beyond insane I guess!!
Amy, you will do great! I just had surgery with Dr. Lane on March 5th, and it was the best decision I could make. I feel for your drive though- I live in BG about 2 miles from the hospital, but I have had to go to CLeveland Clinic for other stuff. But he and Amy are so great and talented. Congratulations!
Hope
